Archive's historical documents say that sometime after 1439 bishop Ludovico di Romagnano rented the Tower to Amedeo di Chignin, who covered the tower with a roof, as we may see in this picture dating to the beginning of XXth century.
In XVIth century enhancements works were made: the wooden staircase was re-built with bricks as well as the carved wood ceiling of the ground floor, similar to those in Fenis Castle (Valle d'Aosta) and Casa Cavassa in Saluzzo (Cuneo). |
